I have a buddy in my Bass Club who has asked me to repair a broken rod, seeing that i havent done it yet I told him I would give it a try with no guarentee. I have read the articles in the library, and I figure I will need an oversleeve of fiberglass blank to do this. Does anyone have and idea where I can get some scrap fiberglass blank to use? How bout my old junky rods that I have lying around is some of that stuff strong enough to act as an oversleeve?
Thanks for any suggestions you may have, Scott Sheets Re: Repair Pieces

Old fiberglass surf rods are idea. I buy them at yard sales for a buck or two and have about a dozen on hand all the time. Most of them are heavy walled and work great for what you need to do. Re: Repair Pieces

Hello Scott
A piece of S or E Glass blank will work well. Most breaks except some out towards the rod tip need an inner sleeve or spigot. Use caution on the thickness of the over sleeve as it can create a section that is too stiff and will cause the rod to break again. Usually at the tip end right near the over sleeve.
