Finally on may way to flocking. Buy Donjer Mini-Flocker Kit - Check. Shaped cork rear grip- check. Seal with Acrylic color preserver and let dry several hours- check. Ream to fit Hot Shot blank- still no fit. Ream some more. Not quite yet. Ream ream ream... almost there, lets see if it'll push down that extra half inch. Uh-oh, now I've got the grip stuck on the blank, but it's not flocked or rod-bonded yet, so that won't work.

Go to pull it back off the blank and the darned thing breaks in half. Crap! That stinks, was so close to getting my flocking adventure started.

So now I guess its find my cork clamp and rod bond it back together?

Phil

You can certainly glue it back together and it will be good as new. Any crack/seam will be covered by the flock.

How bout really jazzing up the whole thing. Make a split grip and do not cry over spilled milk! Fun Fun Fun! Order another color of flock and go for the gusto! The rod building Gods will not keep you from completion they are just inserting small detours! t think for a minute - if it had not been for this board you could have a flocked grip stuck!

Watchin and Waitin Fur De Picture!!

Very true about having the flocked grip stuck, that would have sucked. Although the rodbond would have probably let it slide down that extra 1/4 of an inch or so that I needed.

Didn't really break in a spot conducive to having a split grip, so will glue it back together as soon as I remember what I did with that cork clamp (been working with EVA and Hypalon lately).
