All right guys I'm stuck on this one. I'm in the process of restoring an old falcon rod for a buddy of mine. The wrapping is fine but it has a loose reel seat. It will freely spin around 360 degrees. Is there any way that I could get it to stay without taking the whole handle apart and doing it over. Everyone's 2 cents will be appreciated. Ken Re: loose reel seat

Ken , you can drill a couple of small holes in the seat in spots where it's not too noticeable and inject some 2 part devcon ito the voids between the seat and arbors/blank . Give it a few twists to spread the epoxy around , tape it into position to dry . Use the 1 or 2 hour epoxy to give you time to work . Use an old syringe from your finish epoxy to do the injection . I've done this several times , works good .
Have fun , John Got Fish ? Re: loose reel seat

Ken I would also recommend this procedure. I did it once. It will be hard not to drill into the blank. I would measure the OD of the blank at the winding check then increases the diameter a hair and take it slow. I used something thinner than the devcon like one of the thicker slow cure CA glues. Really flood it from the inside and spin it to center. If youre careful you can also fill your drill holes with the CA.

Thanks a lot guys. I ordered some syringes from Mudhole and I'll give it a whirl when I get them. Like always I appreciate your help and opinions. Ken Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
