All-Star 1267/Rainshadow 1267

I recently purchased a Rainshadow 1267 on the advice that it is the same blank, basically, as the All-Star 1267 which is one of my all-time favorite blanks. Upon comparison of unbuilt blank to unbuilt blank the Rainshadow does not seem as heavy as the All-Star. Not a big difference, but a noticable one.

Does anyone have experience with this comparison? Has anyone built and tested both? My All-Star can handle 5 and bait OK (not with authority), can the Rainshadow? The Rainshadow seems a bit spindlier.

Many thanks

The Rainshadow 1267's that I have built are closer in feel and action to the All Star 1266 than the All Star 1267.

Have you found a good alternative to the 1267?

No alternatives yet....but there are still a few All Star 1267 blanks around.

Doug,
You might try Andy Dear of Lamar Reel Seats. I know he is up and running again and said that he still had a lot of Allstar blanks in stock.
