What's up with the new cover on Rodmaker???!!! The picture is great too but the think looks like a laminate. Now this one IS suitable for framing. Long as you don't increase my subscription fee I say stay with the new look.

The previous covers were coated with a printing varnish for gloss. We have moved to a new aqueous coating and application system that just makes it much deeper and more glossy. I agree that it greatly changes the look, although it has nothing to do with the content inside and that's what really counts.

Joe Emig took the cover shot and it leads into his article on casting rod parts with polyester resin. It's a technique which I think will be really "hot" for the next few years. He did a great job on the article.

I'm surprised you got your copy so early (Georgia?) and for those who are bound to ask, it's not due until the end of June. So please be patient.

Or you can do like I do and just drive over and pick up a copy.

Agree with Rob. The new magazine is stunning! This just puts it into a whole new league. Just beautiful.

Mine came today. Best issue ever. The cover really is striking. And the inside photos just seem clearer and better too. Maybe it's my new glasses but the magazine just seems cleaner and brighter. The information and ideas are as good as always. Thanks.

The photos are clearer - we moved from a standard high quality magazine 133 line screen to art print 175 line screen.
