Hey guys,
I have a friend who's working with me this summer here in Juneau, Alaska who is in need of a heavier flyrod. I think I have him convinced that Dan Craft is the way to go. However, were still trying to figure out which one to get!!! He will be fishing for some kings, sockeye, humpies and chums....maybe a little halibut. Distance casting is a premium up here, and a good double haul is essential in many situations. I am leaning toward an 909 or 908 FT, as they are fast and quite powerful, however, I have never used either. Could the 908 handle a 25lb king? I have an FT 1008 that I love, but no 9 footers. I'm not sure if he wan't a super fast rod. In August he'll be heading back for Maine, so he wants it to be a good stiriper rod too. How bout SIg V? I have the 10wt and love it, but I think it would be a little overkill for an all around salmon rod. How about the 8 wt Sig III? Thanks, Ray Re: Which DC blank to choose?

Hi Ray! I'd lean toward the FT908-4. Yes, it will handle a 25lb (or heavier) King with authority. And you can double-haul half your backing away! :)
