Looking for quality builder to make me a two-piece graphite surf rod. About 10' long and able to cast spoons and plugs up to about three ounces most usually two. I will be using a spinning reel. Would prefer a builder who can provide some customer references. Would prefer NOT to work with anyone who is a rodguild builder. I am located in the MA area but willing to work with a builder in other areas if references can be provided. Please contact by e~mail at barretti1@yahoo.com. Re: need a rod built

Not enough interest or time. Plus to set up to build just this one rod would probably cost me more than just having someone else do it for me. Thanks to those who have responded. I need to take some time and get some specifics out for pricing. Thanks. Re: need a rod built

I have never heard of you and would not ever buy a rod without getting some customer references. No offense, but I prefer to do business that way. Re: need a rod built

Josh, take a look at Mark's work on the photo pages. He isn't a rod builder as such, but more of a craftsman, a very good one at that. I second the opinion that I would be forever grateful to have one of his works of art, especially his "Eastern Steelhead Kit". Take a look at these photos. [www.fishingphotos.net]

Thanks. I took the advice to use the tackleworks directory and found some builders in a 3 state area near me. I will source from there. Thanks for the many helpful replies. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
