I was curious about these guides. Has anyone built a rod with them? What pound line are they rated for? Re: Fuji WDBSG guide question

Peter I built a 20lb jig stick with these guides and I have nothing but praise for them. I can't understand why they haven't caught on the way they should have unless it is something to do with the price. They are very expensive here in Australia, if you can still get them. Mate, if you want good quality guides, I recommend these ithout hesitation. Re: Fuji WDBSG guide question

I have been 'told' that if you incorperate the single foot guides in that line, they are recomended for max of 30#. I have also been 'told' that if you use all the double footed guides, you maybe able to go up to 50-60#. I've not used them yet as I can't really get a definative answer on how strong they are. They are quite expensive and I'm just not brave enough to use them no knowing exactly what their max line rating is.

Jay
I've fished 30lb Braid over my jig rod, which has two single foot guides and 3 doubles. It fishes extremely well and I wouldn't hesitate to go even heavier. I loaned it to a friend a few months ago who wanted to try it on some huge Kingfish. He fished 45lb braid over it and nearly broke his back on some very big fish. The guides and the rod handled the extra pressure better than his back did. If you decided to use all double foot guides I have no doubt you could fish 50-60, just make sure your blank and your back can handle it. I fully recommend these guides as good value.
