I have run across an issue I havento encountered before as an occasional rod builder. I discovered that the tip section of the four piece, 8 wt, fly rod I am building is not absolutely straight. It wanders off a true line a little bit. Its not in line with the spine of the section either. Should I wrap it according to the location of the spine, or perhaps wrap the guides along the inside of the curve?

What is the worst problem this can represent to me? Thanks everyone,

I dont think you'd ever come across a blank which is ABSOLUTELY straight.
If you wrap on the spine, the worst thing that can happen is if you sight down the rod....you will notice the curve.

Ignore the spine and wrap the guides on the outside of the curve. That should tend to minimize the curvature.

I would either ignore it and just proceed, or do as Gerry advises.
