I am repairing a Heddon DeLuxe #35 fly rod. It is missing the butt reel seat. Anyone know where I can get one?

Greetings Jim,

Suggestion on antique bamboo rods, I believe that Heddons as well as a few other famous makers products might lose value --if-- changes are made that dont conform to the products original specification.

In short, any changes, however wellmeaning, might cause a loss in worth of that potential collectors item. And if you can possibly obtain a description of the 'originals' details, that description may be a useful guide in making your repairs.

For example, some of the Heddons and other makers here can be valuable especially those in near pristine condition:

Might want to find a competent appraiser.

LOL

Jim,
I've restored a lot of Heddons. The butt cap is the one part that on most rods is gone. I've gotten pretty good at making replacements.
Drop me a line and we can maybe get you back in business
