Titan Fly Guide Sizing

Have read here that the ID on the new Titan guides runs a little larger than some of the other ceramic guides, and wonder how folks are adjusting to that, if at all.

Specifically, I will be building a rod for which I would typically use sz 8 ceramic guides out to the tip. If I go with the titans, would a sz 7 give me the same ID?

Given that there is not a sz 7 tip top, but size 6 and size 8, would that affect selection of guide size for anyone?

Thanks,

mark

Greetings,

I'm no pro. However, I was able to compare the fuji and titans in sizes 20, 16, 12, 10, 6, 5. The titans ARE a bit larger. However, not by much. In my estimation the larger sizes are larger by only about 1.5mm. So a size 16 Titan may be equal to size to about a Fuji 17 or 17.5 if they made that size. With the smaller sizes, the difference is less. THus, a size 5 titan is closer to a size 5 Fuji than a size 6 fuji. This does create a bit of problem matching up with fuji titanium tip tops.

Sorry but I did not compare size 8s as I do not have them.

Mo
