Does anyone know of any other brands of thread that can be used to make butt wraps besides Pac Bay and others like the same. How about Sully's brand?

I use a lot of Sulky Original Metallic for wrapping. They also have rayon but have not tried it. It can be found at Joanns fabric stores. Below is a link to the Sulky web site.

You might also check out @#$%&, I got some there about 3 months ago for less than half the retail price.

I have used the sulky rayon with good results, at least for what I have been using it for. I only use it for accents within a pattern, and I found out the hard way that you need to back off some of the tension with that stuff(I snap a few single threads in a wrap and had to find a way to pull them our. I also use 2 flood coats of color preservative so far I have not had any fish eyes or bleed through.

I wish gudebrod had a better color selection.

Sulky makes some good stuff. Another option is Robison Anton. That's what I use a lot because I don't have a local dealer who carries Madiera, but they all carry RA. Good thread and at leat in my area, a lot more available than madeira

Try Mettler Polysheen 40#. Great color range and is a good alternative to Madiera.
