grip marks

Does anybody have a good suggestion about not leaving grip marks from a chuck when wrapping guides. To loose it spins, to tight and the chuck leaves impressions on the rear grip. There must be something on the market that can be inserted into the blank without hurting the rear grip Any suggestion would be helpful. Re: grip marks

If the end that your are putting in the chuck has the blank exposed so that you can put something inside it , use a scrap peice of blank that fits inside and sticks out enough to lock into the cuck , you can use masking tape to built up the outside diameter of the scrap blank to either fit in the chuck or fit snuggly inside your rod , if you need to .
