i just discoved a great way to remove old guides and dried epoxy that i have to share. use a dremel at full speed with bit #403, which is a nylon wheel, it will cut right through the epoxy and theads and will not mark the factory finish. it will take the paint off if you paint your blanks however. but on factory finished blanks its great! if anyone knows a better way please tell me.
good luck john Re: best way to remove guides and epoxy

Use a single edged razor. Cut the thread wraps that are over the leading edge of the guide foot. Make sure the tip of the razor is hitting the metal of the edge of the guide foot and not the blank!
Once you get a decent cut, grab and peel it off the blank. If there is any remaining epoxy, use your fingernail to pick off the blank...it you can't get it all this way. Apply moderate hair dryer heat and try again. Final wipe with alcohol, if you're sure that the blank can take it, and you're done. Domenic Re: best way to remove guides and epoxy
