Rod Bond cleanup help

I recently mounted a nickle silver seat and missed some tiny bits of rod bond on the cap and thread area during cleanup. my eyes aint what they used to be. I have used dentured alcohol and tooth brush but cant get it all. Seams like I just need more power or stiffer brush. Maybe on a motor wheel with some kind of plastic brush. You can hardly notiice it except when under a light. Any advise? Thanks Tom

tom, i've taken a sewing pin about 2 inches long, the kind with the colored ball on the thick end, although that doesn't really matter, and basically, carefully, gouged/scraped/etched the extra decorative rod bond out of threads on a nickel silver struble reel seat.

i used the pointy end, OPPOSITE the ball end ;-) i'm sure anything sharp and pointed would suffice, like an xacto knife. good luck.

I used finger nail polish remover. My friend put my reel seat on while he was on the phone and I didn't even get to watch him do it. He started with the glue, I got the phone call and he couldn't stop and wait for me. Anyway I since found glue/bond....whatever it is in my reel seat threads. I used the fingernail polish remover and it seemed to soften it. BTW there is a neato little clip on magnifier with a flex shaft. I will post it as a new topic. Good luck.

by the way, in addition to picking at it with a pin, i also soaked the excessive rod bond with denatured alcohol. you could also probably apply some heat with a hairdryer, i've used the low setting with some flex coat thread finish once to soften a "redo."
