Need help for a Loomis Fly rod blank

This my first fly rod using a GL3 Mahogany 3 wt. 2 pc. blank . With Rosewood/stainless seat. & chrome snakes, what thread and trim color is common? Also should I wrap the ferrule ? This one is tip over type. Please email, thanks <[email protected]> Re: Need help for a Loomis Fly rod blank

My favorite color combination is Gudebrod 6779 Medium Green w/ 9396 Copper Metallic trim (a suggestion from this board). Not common but wery nice and striking colors!
As for the ferrule wrap - I always wrap ferrules at least for aesthetical reasons. Re: Need help for a Loomis Fly rod blank

Ron,
Medium brown or chestnut with copper or gold trim, and garnet with silver trim I think look nice. My son is a nut for purple, the color wheel says purple will work so I was going to try a wrap on a mahogany SJ blank for him. Re: Need help for a Loomis Fly rod blank

hello Ron i build on many g.loomis rods my customers seem to like the red bronze trim with basic black really looks nice on this rod the copper ment.. above is also a very nice trim and yes you should always wrap the ferrul end good luck another good color would be candy apple red with no cp gives it a transparent look.......
