Rod Bond Question

What are some of the methods for measureing & mixing "Rod Bond"?
The thick consistancy is more than I am used to dealing with.
Thanks, Gil

I use popsickle sticks & dollop out equal 'looking' blobs onto a piece of cardboard. I usually mix this for a couple of minutes. So far I've not had any problems...love the stuff. Non-flowing epoxies are great.

I use veterinarian syringes that I keep packed full. Very handy, no cleanup, and no chance of cross contamination if you get in a hurry or are just stupid like me. Also, while you don't have to be accurate with it, it doesn't hurt, and it's very easy to use just tiny amounts for around the house.

I use stainless steel measuring spoons that I purchased in Wallmart for both, rodbond and tread finish. I scoop the thick epoxy with the spoon and use a spatula or popsicle stick to level the contents with the spoon measure, then I wipe clean the spoon with a small precut piece of paper towel and repeat the process.

I use Jay's approach, but was really intrigued by a post on this topic by Ralph O'Quinn himself last month...[www.rodbuilding.org]

Jeesh. How complicated can mixing paste epoxy get. For years now I've been eyeballing the measures, putting the parts of paste epoxy in a small paper cup, and mixing it as if I were stirring sugar in a coffee cup. Didn't realize I was doing wrong. Haven't had any reel seats come loose though. The stuff is really forgiving.

Lou's right! The guy that invented it (Raloh O'Quinn) just eyeballs it!! No need to overcomplicate it. I use popsicle sticks and "fold it together on what ever is handy (cardboard, foil, etc)
