I like them because they're different - you don't often see them on rods. There are many types, of course, and not all are the same material. Like many, I've often wished I could get the same variety of materials and patterns as those offered for pen and knife makers but most aren't available in sizes that are sufficient for use on fishing rods. That will change shortly with an upcoming RodMaker article on how to make your own.

david i wouldent know what to use dave winslow makes these for me he's a really nice guy to work with and he is very helpfull you might want to email him and ask its worth a shot anyway you can email him at davewinslow1@cs.com if no one else tells you how.
