After watching my new Doc Ski rod building video last night, I've come to realize I'm building rods in the Dark Ages. I realize he's a lot more experienced than I. However, I think I'm ready for a power wrapper. Making the first wrap for the cushion for guides on a saltwater reel takes me foreeeeeeeeeever! I spent most of this morning looking on the internet and in catalogs for a wrapper. Now I'm a little on the bewildered side, trying to decide witch one would be best for me. Can any of you folks give me some input as to what you would buy if you were shopping for a wrapper, today? You can comment here, or e-mail me at turpenbob@hotmail.com. Any comments will be appreciated. Re: Time for a Power Wrapper

If money is not object, then either the Renzetti or the Custom Power Wrap are two you should definitely look at. By the same token, the units from American Tackle, Pacific Bay and Batson Enterprises is a remarkably good value and may do all that you need it to do. Flex Coat also has some nice units available.

Bob,
I have had a Custom Power Wrapper for 6 or 7 years and I love it. If you have decent dryers already save yourself $100.00 and get the one without the dryer. Then order one extra upright rod holder for $30.00 Good luck, Buzz Butters Re: Time for a Power Wrapper

I inherited and use the Renzetti and it works great. I got the extra extensions for longer surf rods, and extra holders for more support. The thread spooler is nice to work with as is the lathe motor, chuck and foot pedal. I also have their fly tying tools and they are nicely crafted as well. I'm dying to get the wonder weaver to round off my renzetti tool-set. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
