Got in a hurry! :-{

Put my 1st coat on a spinning rod, & in the area above the handle I got in too big of a hurry--plus the room was a lot cooler than usual (I couldn't wait for it to warm up! :-{ ). The finish is uneven. Can I even it out w/another coat? (It's a light coat-just uneven) Or do I have to sand it smooth 1st? It's a light coat & I don't want to scratch the blank, but I think I can sand it out --if I have too!
Thanks! Mark Re: Got in a hurry! :-{

I have done that too- and when I tried to just put another coat on it, it did the same thing. You need to sand that off....If it rippled then the new finish will follow the finish layer that you put down previously and ripple also. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
