Hollow Male Ferrule Filler??

I have a Loomis 6wt that I built last year and yesterday I noticed the rubber fitting?? in the male ferrule has moved about 3/4 inch or so down into the blank leaving ¾ inch of the ferrule hollow. Is this a problem and what should I do about it. I don’t want to invoke the Warranty and go through all that hassle since I think it can be fixed but if I alter it will it void the Warranty? I thought about filling the gap with rod bond but I wanted to ask you guys first. What is considered the best method/filler for male ferrule’s.

I've used GE black silicone caulk with good results, lots of other people use Rod Bond.

I like the Rod Bond. It gives you time to work. I take one of the plastic spoons I have used to mix it and press the Rod Bond repeatedly into the opening to create a plug extending up into the blank, then wipe with the underside of the spoon to leave a slightly concave indention in the plug (as I read this I realize I've put way too much thought into it!). Once I clean the outside of the ferrule with denatured alcohol and let it dry, I have a plug that is slightly recessed and out of the way, but not deep enough to really hold any dirt.
