You are in luck. Boiling water will break down the epoxy and you can start over. I pulled off a reel seat yesterday using this method. Rod bond is a stronger product, but can't be boiled free.

Is that a "can be boiled free" or a "can't be boiled free"? I've got a grip I'd like to keep, and it was bonded on with Rod Bond... Hopefully, that's a "can" :)

Rod bond is much harder to free than the hardware store varieties. Injection may be your only solution. Do a search for available products.

Manny,

I've managed to inject epoxy under a grip. I have needles that are about 1.25 mm ID. They are used in electronics.
First you need a clean hole to an area under the grip that is loose. I used a small diameter tube to cut a clean plug that I was able to glue back into place after the repair was done. Inject the epoxy slowly and work the loose grip to spread it around. I put a small piece of clear tape over the hole and then put the rod on a dryer. Be sure to check the rod often in case epoxy leaks from around the reel seat or butt cap. Hope this is helpful.

Ed
