I am trying to find a source for the 1/16" Cork/Rubber Tape that St Croix uses. It has the scrim backing and is mostly black in appearance. I have purchased cork tape from a vendor on this site (anglers workshop) and it is fine but it doesn't match the cork tape that is already on the rod that I am repairing.
The tape that I already have seems to be about a 50/50 mix of cork and rubber. The St Croix tape appears to be about 20% cork and 80% rubber. It also appears to be made of a finer grind which gives it a smoother finish and appearance. Does anyone know where to get this cork tape? I know that it is manufactured by Atlantic Gasket Corp. in Philadelphia but they do not sell small quantities.(and I couldn't talk them out of a "sample") Any help would be appreciated. I called St. Croix who gave me the contact information for Atlantic Gasket. I called them and they confirmed that they sell St. Croix the tape but that was about it. Re: Source for Cork Tape St Croix Uses???

Try custom Tackle. The last roll of tape that I got from Bob was higher in rubber than cork. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
