Came across an old custom sturgeon rod that looks like it was built by putting two old Fenwick LB blank inside each other then sleeving the lower blank in thin PVC pipe. The new owner wants me to reburbish with a smooth transitional rope wrap. There was a piece of EVA where the two blanks joined before between the blank bond and the PVC pipe approx. 4 inches further back. I was going to bond a piece of PVC in it's place, but I think if I make this too tight a fit that I will that create a problem when the rod is flexed against the original bond and the original PVC sleeve that stops about 4 inches behind this gap. The bond looks like it was done with a heavy thread or string wrap between the blanks. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
