Probably. Either way, vinyl decals or stickers are somewhat thick. Expect to encounter some difficulty in getting it covered well.

The surface of most vinyls will repel epoxy, so color preserver is a good idea, but even so, the CP may also be repeled. You may want to do some tests on a scrap piece of similar vinyl.

Bryan,
I experimented a few years ago putting Flex Coat over vinyl and had a lot of trouble with it. The way that I finally found that worked best is to let the Flex coat sit for about 20 minutes until it starts to get a little thick and then apply it. Even then in some cases you may have to come back a few minutes after applying it and respread it over the vinyl. I also cleaned the vinyl good with alcohol after it was attached to the rod but prior to applying the Flex Coat but I really do not know if this did any good or not.

I feel certain that you'll like the water slide decals much, much better and you'll have a better looking inscription to boot.
