Duhhhh

I am sure everyone has been doing this for years now, but I just figured out something pretty slick. As I sat and re-wrapped a few guides on some of the rods I have going it dawned on me. Why don't I leave the last thread tag on untill I have the guide in alighnment? I have a habit of popping that loose and having to redo the guide. It makes it a lot more difficult to pop that tag loose when there is 3-4 inches to pop loose. Then you have a means to tighten the wrap back up as well. Then once the rod is all aligned trim it off and take it to the finish area. LIke I said I am sure this is old hat to most of you, but it has made my life much easier. Just thought I would pass it on to the forum.

And of course: that's the main wrap. And you don't put on your stand-alone (nail knot) trim wraps until the guides are aligned. And you don't cut off the trailing tag end of those trim wraps until you are about to epoxy. Right? At least that's the way I do all that. (Although I take a final look at the alignment right then.)
