Catfish Rod

I'm looking for an inexpensive blank for catfish/carp fishing at a length no longer than 6'6". Briefly I found Rainshadow makes a few inexpensive med-heavy/heavy weight, but I have no experience with their blanks. Any suggestions for blanks?

Ryan

I've always liked E-glass for cat rods, at least the big flats and blues. American Tackle ATX live bait blanks and Pacific Bay PBX blanks make really decent cat sticks and are very affordable. I am sure that several of the sponsors carry them, I know Mudhole and Custom Tackle do.

I don't have any experience with Rainshadow so I can't comment on them, but I've heard nothing but good things about their products.

If you find a 7ft. one piece that otherwise suits you, cut 6in. or whatever off the butt of the blank and build away. Ralph

If at first you don't succeed, go fishing, then try, try again.
