I'm looking for some advice on American Tackle's wood insert handle sets. I am going to be building a Sage flyrod (RPL G3) and want to put an AT reel seat / handle set on the rod. I am having trouble picking a color. Anyone out there used these products? It is a long drive to the nearest AT dealer and all the catalogs and web sites I have looked at display these products differently making it difficult to choose a finish. I'm leaning toward Burked Rosewood. Thanks

I've used two of the burl rosewood grip/seat combos, and it looks exactly as it appears on AT's web site (http://www.americantackle.us/docs/flyseats.htm) It is a very attractive package that really looks nice on the blank. FWIW, I used one on an SCIV and the other on a rainforest, both green. Re: AT wood insert handle set question (color)

I have a Kingwood trimmed grip and seat on a green Allstar Elite. Looks very nice but I think the Burled Rosewood will look even prettier. The grip is quite a bit smaller than those on the Allstar Austin factory rods. Personally I wish the AT grips were larger. They are very handsome and well made, though and will add class to any blank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
