Can anyone recommend a blank that is close in feel, weight, and action of a G. Loomis MBR843? Thanks. Re: Loomis GLX

Zhi Qiang Zhan,
Unless I have forgotten the Loomis nominclature the MBR stands for Mag Bass Rod so I think that what you want is the MB843 which should be a medium powered, 7", fast action bass blank. But frankly I would never go to GLX for a Mag Bass rod. It is just going to be too easy to break. In fact, I think that using a very high modulus graphite for any very fast action rod is just asking for trouble and a way to waste a lot of money. There are a lot of very fine Mag Bass blanks available that are intermediate modulus that I think might serve you better over the long run. I am familiar with Mag Bass blanks from Rainshadow, Lamiglas and Loomis, all of which make fine blanks but I would pick either the Rainshadow or the Lamiglas over the Loomis. If you would prefer the Loomis then I would suggest that you pick a GL 3 though rather than a GLX or if you are someone that is very careful with his rods you might try the IMX.
