Date: April 10, 2005 01:20PM I just got around to opening a stack of mail that was delivered last week. Inside I found a flier from Pac Bay announcing their new RW-XL model lathe. This one comes with the "upgraded" chuck , what appears to be a re-designed track section and a new configuration thread carriage. The flier didn't give any more details. However, this unit appears to be a real move up in overall functional design. Re: Pac Bay Flier

Ken, I just saw the upgraded check assembly yesterday. It seems to be everything that the original chucks are not. Has a nice heavy feel to it and appears to be very secure and easy to use. All you have to do now is find one. They seem to be going out as soon as the suppliers get them. I'll be getting one as soon as I can locate one. I believe they said the MSRP on them is around $100.00. That price is for the chuck assembly obviously, not the wrapper/lathe itself.
