Is Permagloss STILL the "stuff" for this job?
Thank you! Re: Clear coat for blanks

There are several products that work well, but Permagloss is still tops on my list.
Find one of the black foam paint brushes (the grey ones won't take the solvent in PG) and soak a corner of it in Permagloss. Now push the tip of your through the foam and draw the brush all the way down the blank in one smooth motion. Wait an hour or so and repeat. You should wind up with a blank that will rival any factory model in terms of surface finish. ............ Re: Clear coat for blanks

John, be sure and test it on what ever you are coating, if painted. Permagloss will distroy alot of the painted finishes used on rods. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Clear coat for blanks

You can also do the same thing, foam brush application, with spar urethane. Have used both and it works great. As Tom said, one continuous smooth motion. You will be very pleased with the results.
