Does anyone know a good source of info on guide placement on float rods. Or some suggestions on less exspencive blanks?
Thanks Re: Rods for centerpinning

What length of blank are you looking for? And what line rating? I would strongly recommend the Rainshadow lineup of blanks. Re: Rods for centerpinning

Adam,
I built three rods for King float fishing, this summer, and they turned out to be my favorite rods for float fishing. I was able to land several large kings, without problem. I even ended up using them for silvers and steelhead, even though they are rated med-hvy. They are a little heavier blank, 10'6" long, but perfect for float fishing. I use a spinning reel for my float fishing, but I have several centerpin reels, and I think these blanks would be great for that. The blanks were made by Batson / Rainshadow, and are the DR1265-F, which is a graphite / composite blank. I don't work for, or even know anyone from Batson. But, I do like this rod blank! As for guide placement, if you end up getting one of these blanks, let me know, and I will send you the spacing I used. Good luck! Chris Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
