Vetre Matrix Handles from American Tackle are in!

Hi All,

The Vetre Matrix Handles are in. They will begin shipping orders today. They come in both spinning and casting in a 16 mm with 10 and 14" tubes.

Here is some info about them.

ATC's patented Vetre Handle System transforms the beauty of their emerald green woven Matrix twill into a durable, ultra light and sensitive carbon rod handle that will match any American Matrix rod blank. An up-locking woven graphite grip assembly (mounted the same as any reel seat), secures your reel into the molded graphite seat for both spinning and casting models. Designed without a fore grip, the handle allows direct hand contact with the blank adding additional sensitivity to this already sensitive and durable woven tube material. This handle provides optimum performance and a beautiful monochromatic look.

I can see where these handles may very well have some advantages in some applications but are they really lighter than cork??

Hi Emory,

I haven't weighed them but I think it would be very close.

By the way that first picture shows a cut-away of the tubular handle so you can see the length of the reel seat threads.

Did not think of those handles got some one that I am building a rod for his son. Likes green. I am using a cork handle on it. That handle would have been perfict.
What is the OD on them? Will rings fit ?
