Urethane over Flex Coat???

I just finished a 10ft 8wt last night and it was one of the best finish jobs I've ever done using flex coat. However, I noticed 1 or 2 tiny pieces of dust in 2 of the guides and was wondering if anyone has ever tried putting a polyurethane such as Minwax clear gloss over an epoxy thread finish. I know about epoxy over urethane, but not the other way around. I am hoping that this would work and the shorter curing time of the urethane will provide less time for any other dust to find my wraps. Would I have to sand the wraps with scotchbrite even though I just applied the second coat of flex coat last night?
If this is an option, I may have to touch up a few other wraps on other rods. Thanks, Lou Re: Urethane over Flex Coat???

i lurk a lot on the bamboo rod making forum and the opinion of those fellows is that uerothane does not adhere well to other coatings. i have no personal experience though.
my take is that spar varnish like man o war red can will adhere to flexcoat and give a very durable and clear finish. of course you need to give the flexcoat some tooth. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
