Does anybody know where to get some wood dowels of maple, cherry, oak and other fine woods that are resin impregnated? I saw that Mudhole had some inserts but not in the woods Im looking for and quite expensive too ($18+). Im looking to make some skeleton seat inserts.

Also looking for any kind of supplier of clear plastic tubing to make a clear skeleton seat insert, I read in Advanced Custom Rod Building that there are clear inserts made specifically for rod building, cant seem to find em anywhere.

Andy Dear at Lamar or Les at Les' Inserts would be your best bet for the wood. Clear acrylic tubing is usually available at craft and hobby shops in various diameters.

Jay , go to WSSI web site, (Wood Stabilization Specialist Incorporated) They are in Iowa, and they have a good selection of stabilized wood, cut to dimensions for reel seats, They also do custom stabilization. They have a fair selection and I would give them a phone call to get service. Very polite people, The others, mentioned above are also very good too, and they are sponsors also.

Thanks, found it. They too have a good selection but dont sell anything in a dowel, looks like just blocks.

Ive found a couple of places selling fine wood dowels w/o resin impregnated, anybody know how to make resin impregnated wood?
