Quick question - multi-piece blanks

I am thinking of building my first fly rod. The blanks I see are 2 or 3 pieces (sections?) - my question is - do they come so that they will fit together or do I have to buy ferules and mount them to make the sections fit together?
Thanks, Jim Re: Quick question - multi-piece blanks

Most blanks today fit together without needing to add ferrules. You will need to wrap the female end of each ferrule with the same thread that you use to wrap the guides, to protect the ferrules. Wrap within 1-2mm of the end of the ferrule, and make the length of the wraps equivalent to at least twice the diameter of the hole in the ferrule.
