Sanford - I've found out a way to counteract the e-mail barrage. I add your name my SPAM list (lol), and send you super long e-mails trying to get you to buy Titanium guides, GUSA blanks, and covince you to come to NERB gatherings - as well as con you into bringing some food. I would do all this, but talking the three model blondes into making the trip is such a chore. I didn't know you had a business, seriously. What is the name of the firm? I am planning to come to the gatherings next year, I hope. I will bring some tuna that I haul in this summer. Re: Question for Mike McGivney

My business is helping other guys build better fishing rods. I'll send out NERB bulletins when I am in the mood with notices of what's been going on, what's coming up, and any plans I have or someoen else has - examples of this are NERB Fluke trip, Tuna Trips, and Blackfish trips, as well as NJ, NY & MAss gatherings.
Friday I sent out "product reviews" for some of the new stuff I've tinkered with recently, some of the new products that are out, and some Japanese components which I plan to order this week. I also put together orders for blanks & stuff so we don't get hammered on shipping costs, and in the case of GUSA's, to get colored blanks as well as some special orders which are not on the market yet (Composite 50-80 GUSA, a 6'6 Predator Lite, a Trident, 2/3 piece Monster & Mega Mags). Stregnth in numbers. I really would like to see the North East have some influence on the custom rod market. There are so few companies catering towards this area, yet so many fishermen and different types of fishing. The thing I enjoy most, is there are quite a few guys who take great pride in the prduct they turn out, and go the extra mile to make their rods fish as well as they look. It's great to see more and more "custom" work on the photo board, I know Threadwork had it's heyday 10-15 years ago (specifically butt wraps), but it's time to bring it back and keep making the craft grow. imo. Billy,
My son lives in Japan and has made this his home. He sends me various fishing articles and they are beautifully handcrafted, as usual for the Japanese. I know they have fishing equipment far superior to ours that is not exported, sad to say, but some day maybe. As to the GUSA rods, let me know what you have and like. I have made a couple of them and really like the blank. Here in the Northeast the striper fishing is the best in the world, and that is not an exaggeration. With the structure off of Cape Cod, MA., the fishing is second to none. The tuna come within 3 miles of the coast at times, and bluefish , striped bass, flounder, and cod abound. Other fish are available as well. When I take my boat out, I can count on boating some fish. We have a number of rips which the bonita and albacore love, and that is a fun day when they are in. Everyone I know seems to fish. Right now, the weather is just changing to Spring, and the lakes and ponds have trout, salmon, all stocked. In a few weeks the schoolie stripers will be in as the herring precede them. Then we go to the beaches to start the year, then the boats a couple of weeks later. I moved here for this reason. Keep me informed as to the NERB progress. Sanford Re: Question for Mike McGivney
