Custom Tackle Supply

Yesterday I placed my first order from Custom Tackle Supply. I ordered a couple of jigs to cut pie shapes from cork rings. The gentleman that I talked to explained that he actually sells two types of jigs. I wound up ordering both types along with some reel seats for two fly rods that I am building. I don't know the gentleman's name but he was very helpful in helping me pick the right seats for some 9 wt. rods.

Andy Dear sent me some samples of cork rings which I plan to use in my new fly rod handles and am anxious to cut with the cork jigs. How about some colored rings other than the brown tone, Andy?
Cheers, Ellis

You will love the jigs and Andy's cork!! One thing that I did find out about the cork, though. It is a little bigger than the standard 1 1/4" ring and needs to be sanded down a tad to fit in the jigs. No Problem though. I just popped a bunch of them onto one of Andy's new mandrels and it took less than a minute to sand them down to size. They cut very nicely in the jigs. very smooth edges

Mike

Most likely it is the checkerboard/diamond jig along with the slicing jig. Custom Tackle is a pleasure to do business with, and the jigs are really nice.

Haven't worked with Andy's cork but hope to soon. I've heard nothing but raves from a lot of folks that I respect.
