I recently acquired several honey colored Fenwick glass blanks and am planning on building three matching rods as there are three different lengths. These have laid in a rod builders shop for years and through time and handling the Fenwick eagle and logo that appear to be painted on have become a bit chipped.Would there be any way of filling in these chipped areas? I have one old fenwick rod blank for my featherweight champion rod handle...its got nice action but the finish and wrappings are a little old too...I am also looking for more of these Fenwick glass blanks...either in honey or do they come in other colors? Are these fenwick glass blanks classified as tubular glass blanks or are they e-glass? Are the logos kinda rubbed off or is the glass surface actually chipped off? mine is a little rubbed off too...I just use a water proof fine marker and fill it back in...I have yet to seal it off though... depends on the chips but i have filled in logos with testors enamel and fine sable brushes. it can be tedeous and exacting work. you then cover with a water based varnish or color preserver and it kind of blends everything. another option might be to have decal connection make them up for you and replace them. I believe it would be a violation of Fenwicks registered trademark logo to do any reproduction of that on a decal. If you had an ALPS printer(or know someone that does-hint hint) you could scan the logo and make your own.As Decal Connection would be selling any made, they could be subject to legal action. And before anyones asks...no,I do NOT have an ALPS printer.

Just for the record, duplicating copyrighted material is illegal even for personal use although I don't know that anyone would pursue it! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
