I have been told that it is better to use a double footed guide , mounted backwards as a stripper guide fer spinnins rods when using braid..
When I ordered me guides fer the Lami P844, i got the "V" style (BYAG-25) for a stripper.. is dis ok ? Or will I be fighting loops hangin on the stripper ?? 'Tanks !! Re: Guide layout with Braid

I would question that, I use single foot guides on Musky rods using braid (even use fly guides from the transition point.) I also use single foots and fly guides on casting rods I don't understand the rationale! The type of line should have no effect on the guide except POSSIBLY the ring type

If braided line is all that will ever be used on your Lami, you can use smaller guides. I have found that keeping the braided line under control with the proper size of guides is the key to no tangles. Most braids are 75% smaller in diameter than the same strength of mono and I adjust the size of my guides accordingly. Re: Guide layout with Braid

So the rule of 1/2 spool diameter may not apply ?

For me, the 1/2 rules does apply to braid. My reason is the braided line has no memory and it is extremely limp without any tension on it, thus making it harder to control. I have a couple of 9 1/2 ft. Breakaways with a size 15 stripper. You can always complete your rod except for that one guide. Test cast it with a few different sizes taped on until you find the one that suits you best. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
