Wrapped a rod today and for some reason I had a devil of a time with frayed ends. How long should I wait before slicing off the bumps and recoating as per Flex Coat's tip below?
"TIP #9: Occasionally a frayed end or stick-up of thread may project from a finish. To correct this, allow the finish to dry and then slice off this projection with your utility knife or razor. Recoat the wrap with Flex Coat Rod Finish." Thank you Re: How long to wait between finish coats

Thanks Bob. You answered just in time... it's only been 6 hrs and I was just about ready to go try it. No doubt I would have made a terrible mess. Re: How long to wait between finish coats

As soon as it is hard to the touch Don't want your fingers to stick to the finish Re: How long to wait between finish coats

Another reason to wait for the finish to kick is so the little nibs you slice off won't stick to the finish. Been there...those things are hard to get off if the finish isn't set.
