I have decided to build my first rod on a Rainshadow spg 723. Since this is my first rod, I have no idea what size guides I should order for it. Could you please e-mail me the size of guides and the brand and model of the guide that you would recomend.
Thanks

What type of fishing will you be doing, as well as the type of rod(ie. spin, cast etc)?

I'm sorry I should have clarified that. It will be a spiral casting. I will throw small crankbaits with it.

Brody,
The easy way is to use the Forhan formulas. You use 1 ea #12 double foot low frame, 1 ea #10 single foot fly, 2 ea #8 singlefoot low frame fly, and the rest are #6 fly guides with a like sized tip top. If I remember right the spacing from the tip back will be 5 in. and the rest 6 inch spacing for a total of 8 guides if I remember right. The doublefoot is at 0 degrees and rotates equally to the 4th guide with is 180 degrees out. Rich uses Fuji Alconites, but it works with other like guides also.
