Anbody heard of this? Is it pretty much the same a the Fuji concept or some other guide placement strategy? I saw them advertise the MGS for one of their rod lines, but haven't had a chance to inspect the rod personally...figured someone here has already done that for me! :-) Re: Rapala Maximum Guide System (MGS)

Different name on the same idea. None of them work worth a crap unless you know how to set it up. The factories just take some high frame V guides, slap them on the rod and call it the concept or MGS system. Big deal. Re: Rapala Maximum Guide System (MGS)

Unless they sell it with a matching reel and did it right in the first place it would probably be mediocre at best. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: Rapala Maximum Guide System (MGS)

Even though they dont set them up correctly they still perform great as the idea of getting down to the smallest guide in a short distance is still there. It lightens the tip up a whole bunch. i spent alot of thim the past summer setting up many many different variations of guide location, size,# of guides, size of line. All in all they all casted pretty close to each other. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
