I was surprised to find RodMaker in my mailbox today. I usually get it at the end of the month. I really like the article on guide feet preping. I have a small belt sander as pictured in the magazine that I never thought to use to dress the guides. I think I will take time and dress all of the guides in my small stock at one time. I could even use the belt sander to grind the barbs on my fly hooks at the same time. Thanks for the article, Tom.
Cheers, Ellis Re: Vol. 8 Issue 1

The belt sander is a good bet because of the larger sanding surface. On a 5 or 6 inch disc, you only get 15 to 18 inches of sanding area. Even a small tabletop belt model can give you well over 30 inches of useable surface. Thus, the belt stays cooler and lasts longer.
