Just a little informal poll.

Of any rod crafters who have done a lot of bass fishing, if using bass jigs betwee 3/16 ounce to 1/4 ounce, what would be your top three favorite picks for rod blanks and why? Just curious to see what other people are having success on. Cheers!

If sensitvity is critical...

St. Croix Legend Elite and Shikari SHX. So far those blanks are the most sensitive blanks I've been able to find.

Agree on those two and add Rogue MB704 - very light, sensitive and about $30 less expensive.

The Shikari MB803 cut down to whatever length you desire is a good one.

I agree with Matt's suggestions, I really like the PSJ662 Shikari blank for these weight jigs. Built one as a casting rod that threw 1/4 oz spinnerbaits further than any other rod I've ever used or built by a considerable margin, it's also a light, very sensitive, and well balanced blank.

St. Croix SCV (Legend Elite) blank. I'd use a 6'6" MF for the power to set the hook on and handle a big bass, even though an MLF might be more sensitive.
