I glued on the real seat and the end cap and guess what I forgott to put on the real seat the ring that tightens the reel.
Is it possible to get the end cap off with out to much damage? Help.......... Joe Re: newby mistake

What did you use to "glue" it on? If you used 5 minute epoxy, you should be able to boil it and get it off. If you used Rod Bond, it will be really hard to get it off. Re: newby mistake

If you're only dealing with the reel seat, you can apply enough heat to get the cap off. A cigarette lighter will likely do all you need to do. Because you're not applying direct heat to the blank, it's doubtful you'll get it hot enough to damage it before the end cap comes off.
The only consideration I would add, is that the plating on some seats can discolor if hit with an open flame. ......... Re: newby mistake

I used rod builders epoxy. Will that make it easier?
