Hey guys,
The wife's brother-in-law wants me to build him another 7' casting rod for carolina rigging. I'm thinking about using a Gator Glass blank, but I don't know much about them ........ Anybody have any experience with them? Anything at all? Thanks. Re: Gator Glass Blanks

Have built 60-80 lb grouper rods. They are a very serviceable and tough rod in this weight class. Reasonably priced blank. Don't know how they would be for lighter bass fishing use.

Bill,
Because sensitivity is important in a Carolina rigged rod I would not start with a glass blank. I think that your wide's brother in law will be a lot more satisfied with the rod if you use a graphite blank. Some of the lighter Mag Bass blanks from any one of the sponsors on the left make nice rods for Carolina rigging. Re: Gator Glass Blanks

I agree with Emory about the sensitivity issue. I bought one of those Gator Glass rods for prospective use as a steelhead plug rod. It is not very sensitive. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
