Hi,
I just found a new old Phillipson Eponite fly blank 8' #6. Have anyone used a rod made on this blank? I don't know how to build this one. If is a great blank I'll try to use the best things to have a very nice presentation/fishing rod. Please advice, I don't kno anything about Phillipson.. Thanks, Caro Re: Phillipson Eponite blank

If you get in touch with, ricksrods.com/phillipson.html, you can find a lot of good information on Phillipson. Stan Grace Helena, MT "Our best is none too good" Re: Phillipson Eponite blank

i believe that eponite was phillipsons second generation blank and it had more fibers running lengthwise in the rod. thye had better perfromance and were lighter than the old epoxite blanks. it may also have used a better epoxy than the earlier blanks. the epoxite blanks were earlier and heavier. i think it would make a very nice fly rod. if i had the blank i would build it for sure. 8' is at about the limit in length for glass fly rods i think. after that they get quite heavy. as for being a six wt, expect this blank to be a better 5wt. that seems to be the consensus on the phillipson rods.
