i have done the first wrap on my spinning rod with gold d size thread, should or is the way to do it..to wrap another thread over this as a finish wrap, or is it ok to leave this wrap as my finish wrap. Also do i have to remove the epoxy from the wrap to install the finish wrap if there is a finish wrap to be applied. Re: guide wrapping

I'm not sure what you mean by a "finish wrap." A spinning rod guide should only require one wrap. Epoxy or urethane finish then goes over the top of the thread.

I've been reading the posts here when they talk about wrapping guides they say something about a second wrap, didnt know if one wrap is sufficent or not. Re: guide wrapping

Double wraps are only needed on the Heavier Saltwater Blanks as a Buffer between Blank and Guide feet. Proper guide foot preperation will reduce the need for double wraps Re: guide wrapping

Greetings Alan,
Assuming you are building a fresh water spinning rod on a mdium or lighter blank, you'll want to keep the assembly as light as possible to maximize the sensitivity. Prepare the guide feet as others have suggested, avoid an underwrap unless you really need the aesthetics (it adds weight) and wrap the guides with "A" weight thread, again to keep the weight down.
