I'm just putting the finishing touches on rod built with a Rainforest II blank and I noticed some scratches in the finish. Any suggestion on how I might 'buff' them out? They are in places that would look odd to cover with additional wraps. Re: Minor Scratches

Hello Mike
A good polish job on a new rod always looks good. Good old Johnsons paste wax works well. It will take care of minor scratches. Regards Joe His Rod Shop Joe Kassuba Re: Minor Scratches

There's a product on the market called "GS7", I think, made in Germany. It's marketed for removing minor surface scratching on automotive finishes. I have no idea if it works, but if you can find some it might be worth a try. Re: Minor Scratches

Are you the Mike Casey in Billings? If so, I have some of this GS7 stuff. Re: Minor Scratches

I've had real good luck using Meguire's Super X compound. You can find it at Kmart, Walmart and any automotive store. Re: Minor Scratches

Try spraying WD-40 on the scratch and then wipe.
An old trick from Ted Sevier some years ago. Best wishes, Ron Schneider Schneider's Rod Shop Mountain Home, Arkansas [www.schneidersrods.com] mtnron40@yahoo.com 870-424-3381 Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
